Born in 1942 at Beaver Flat, Saskatchewan to Christian Mennonite Brethren parents who were farmers by profession.
Accepted Christ as my Saviour at age 13.
Graduated from Millar Memorial Bible Institute (Southern Saskatchewan) in 1963.
Went to Germany with Bible Christian Union in 1964 and was “loaned” to Bibelschule Brake where I began teaching Bible in 1965. (In 1994 BCU became a part of TEAM).
Married Lucille Bridger from Daysland, Alberta – also a Millar grad - on my first furlough in 1968. We remain happily married since that time. We have four adult children who now all live in Western Canada. Our children were all educated in the German school system through 10th grade and then switched to Black Forest Academy to complete high school. Lucille and I have one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law. All of us are believers in Jesus. We also have two delightful grandchildren ages 3 and 6.
In 1968 I was ordained with the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada in our home church in Swift Current, Saskatchewan
Studied at Dallas Theological Seminary 1973-75.
Was named President of Bibelschule Brake in 1978 (until 2007).
Retired from Germany in 2007 to Abbotsford, BC, Canada having taught 80 semesters. Now we return to Brake twice a year to guest-teach, primarily OT but of late also in the area of Leadership.
As a part of our work I travelled extensively on weekends to minister in churches throughout Germany.
Served for many years on various German/European boards in theological education and missions. In relation to Missions I have travelled to Haiti, Mali, Kenya, Tanzania, India, the Philippines, Hungary, Bulgaria, Japan, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Poland to encourage missionaries, learn from them and speak at gatherings for them or sponsored by them. Our goal is to visit as many Brake graduates as possible who are working as missionaries in some 65 countries around the globe.
Lucille and I jog regularly or feel badly when we don’t. We are avid couch soccer fans who since our return to Canada, make do with baseball. – We both read a lot for pleasure, edification and education.

Reaching Children: The 4-14 Window is defined as that window of opportunity between the ages of four to fourteen when more than 85% of Christians make their decision to follow Christ. With more than 2 billion children falling into this category and almost half the world’s population under 21, BCM International has made this strategic 4-14 Window the central focus of its ministry since beginning as the Bible Club Movement in 1936. All around the world BCM is committed to partnering with local churches to reach children for Christ and disciple them in God’s Word.http://bcmintl.org
